qzx movePath
What it does
Moves or renames one file, symbolic link, or complete directory; partial directory moves are rejected
Command maturity: Alpha
Available for real use and feedback while its interface and behavior can still evolve. This is the current development-checkout assessment. Every future immutable release tag preserves the exact assessment shipped by that version. Available in PyPI 0.2.2.0.9. This page documents the 0.2.2.0.9 alpha development checkout.
Behavior and built-in protections
Live mode applies the changes you request
Direct execution for this operation
Works without invoking native programs
Works without network access
Uses your current permissions; results can vary
Only complete directory moves are supported. Same-filesystem entries use rename; cross-filesystem regular files are staged and verified by size and SHA-256 before the source is removed. Cross-filesystem and finite-depth directory moves are rejected to avoid partial trees. Filesystem roots, special entries, and unsafe ancestor/descendant relationships are blocked before mutation. --force backs up and stages the previous destination.
QZX creates a recovery archive before live changes; use --dangerously-bypass-approvals-and-sandbox/--yolo only when you deliberately choose to skip it.

Representative output example
This illustrative JSON is derived from the current implementation-backed result contract. It shows what the command can return without claiming a recorded execution; values vary with inputs, host, permissions, and optional tools.
Example command: qzx movePath source.txt destination.txt --json

}Errors and limits
The public contract requires success=false and a descriptive message on failure. This catalog does not yet declare a command-specific error taxonomy; inspect the result and do not invent error codes.
QZX is alpha software. Optional dependencies, permissions, and host capabilities can change the result.
Evidence workflow: requires a controlled privileged environment.
