qzx diagnoseWebsite
What it does
Diagnoses why an HTTPS website may be failing by correlating DNS, TLS certificate, and HTTP reachability evidence
Command maturity: Alpha
Available for real use and feedback while its interface and behavior can still evolve. This is the current development-checkout assessment. Every future immutable release tag preserves the exact assessment shipped by that version. Available in PyPI 0.2.2.0.9. This page documents the 0.2.2.0.9 alpha development checkout.
Behavior and built-in protections
Inspects without changing state
Direct execution for this operation
Uses a native tool when needed
Uses network access for the documented task
No elevation required by design
Combines DNS resolution, trusted TLS certificate inspection, and one HTTPS GET-style reachability probe into a read-only diagnosis. Bare hostnames default to HTTPS; shell-sensitive targets, embedded credentials, query strings, fragments, numeric addresses, and non-HTTPS schemes are rejected before network activity. An authoritative DNS name-not-found result skips downstream TLS and HTTP probes, while diagnostic-engine failures remain explicitly partial instead of being mislabeled as website outages.
This safety classification was reviewed by OpenAI GPT-5.6 Sol against implementation digest sha256:7da1246f5eb89d528f235dfc19e325e3e697c7b7b902cbb26078d0955e4c4452 on 2026-09-10.
Exact syntax
qzx diagnoseWebsite <target> [timeout] --jsonParameters
Swipe or use the horizontal scrollbar to see every column.
| Name | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| target | str | Yes | Not declared | Domain or HTTPS URL to diagnose, optionally including a port or path |
| timeout | float | No | 10 | HTTP request timeout in seconds (0.1-60; defaults to 10) |
Input examples
qzx diagnoseWebsite example.comDiagnose DNS, TLS, and HTTP for a website in one command
qzx diagnoseWebsite https://example.com/docs --jsonReturn a structured diagnosis for a specific HTTPS path
qzx diagnoseWebsite example.com:8443/status --timeout 15 --jsonDiagnose an HTTPS service on a custom port with a longer HTTP timeout
For the complete structured payload, add --json: qzx diagnoseWebsite <target> [timeout] --json
Representative output example
This illustrative JSON is derived from the current implementation-backed result contract. It shows what the command can return without claiming a recorded execution; values vary with inputs, host, permissions, and optional tools.
Example command: qzx diagnoseWebsite example.com --json

}Errors and limits
The public contract requires success=false and a descriptive message on failure. This catalog does not yet declare a command-specific error taxonomy; inspect the result and do not invent error codes.
QZX is alpha software. Optional dependencies, permissions, and host capabilities can change the result.
Evidence workflow: requires an authorized endpoint or reviewed fixture.
